ok to talk about yoga during rush
by: ?My mom is a yoga instructor. Recently I keep hearing that yoga is part of the formula of a "Basic White Girl" . Should I not talk about yoga or my mom's job during rush.

The only thing more trite than doing yoga is talking about yoga. If your mom is a yoga teacher , she is pretty much a joke unless she is Alec Baldwin' s wife.

You really shouldn't worry about what you're going to talk about during rush. It's going to feel so natural in the moment and the sisters are going to prompt you with a ton of questions so you probably won't feel any pressure about deciding what topics you're going to talk about anyways. And if you're worried about whether to bring it up or not, by the time that you would have that conversation, it will probably be during round where you feel comfortable at all the chapters you're visiting.

There are topics to avoid in rush. If you are trying to look like anything other than a half wit, I suggest not talking about yoga.

This school does have a large group of women that are in the basic category. Having a yoga hag of a mom is far from unusual here.

Most of the moms at this school are just like that Mrs. George (Regina George's mom) from Mean Girls. We have some of the orangest yoga hag moms in the world. It is frightening.

I wouldn't talk about yoga when I go through next term. I'm not orange, my mom went to college and has a real job, and I don't shop at Forever 21. But what should we talk about? Please give us some ideas. I know it is all going to sound very contrived, but I don't want to say something really ridiculous!

Don't worry we are preped with questions that are basic and help keep things flowing and comfortable. You will make a connection with some girls and some you won't. Just do you.
