CSULB is a large commuter-heavy public university in Long Beach, California — part of the Cal State system — and its Greek scene reflects that reality. Chapters host fundraising events throughout the year, and Greek Week tends to bring different councils together around friendly competition and service projects. The Long Beach area also gives chapters access to a lot of community involvement opportunities beyond just campus events.

Greek life is one part of a much bigger and more decentralized social environment at CSULB. Students who join usually find it becomes a meaningful piece of their college experience, but it's not the default social infrastructure the way it might be at a school with a stronger residential culture.
