Bryant University - BU Overview

  About Greek Life at BU

Bryant University is a small, business-focused school in Smithfield, Rhode Island, with a tight-knit campus where social life tends to center around a pretty connected student body. The Greek system there is on the smaller side, which makes sense given the overall enrollment, but it's a real part of campus culture rather than something that exists on the margins.

On the fraternity side, IFC-affiliated chapters include Delta Chi, Delta Kappa Epsilon, Phi Kappa Sigma, Phi Kappa Tau, Tau Epsilon Phi, Tau Kappa Epsilon, and Sigma Chi. Panhellenic is represented by Delta Zeta, Phi Sigma Sigma, and Sigma Sigma Sigma. There's no NPHC or MGC presence listed at this time, so the system runs through those two councils.

Because Bryant is a small residential campus, most students know each other across the Greek and non-Greek divide pretty well. Chapters don't have large standalone houses the way you'd see at a big state school — housing and social events tend to operate through on-campus arrangements. Rush and recruitment reflect that smaller scale too; it's generally a more personal process than what you'd find at a large flagship university.

Philanthropy is a consistent thread across chapters here, with organizations running fundraising events and community service efforts throughout the academic year. Bryant's business school culture also means a lot of Greek members are plugged into professional development activities alongside the social side of chapter life. The Greek system and the broader student community overlap quite a bit on a campus this size, so membership tends to have visibility across the whole school rather than feeling like a separate world.
