Francis Marion University is a small public university in Florence, South Carolina, and its Greek system reflects that intimate campus setting. The school draws mostly from the Pee Dee region of the state, and the community that's built around it is pretty tight-knit — Greek life included.

Chapters here tend to stay active through intramurals, campus events, and involvement in student government as well.

If you're coming from a bigger school or a high school where Greek life was a huge deal, FMU's system will feel more low-key. But for students who want real involvement and actual relationships rather than just membership in a large organization, the smaller scale here tends to work in people's favor.
