Salty Alumz Get A Life
by: GafI don’t think a single active student uses this site anymore. All I see are salty delts and ATO alum arguing about who’s coming back first (neither will expansion is closed)

I got this from the FSL office. Alpha Phi owned a house and sold it when they left. They came back to FSU and built their current new house. AOPi owned a house and sold it when they left. They came back toFSU and built their current new house. Alpha Xi Dekta owned a house on Park and sold it to Lanbda Chi when they left. Sigma kappa owned their house on Park and sold it to Kappa Sig. sigma Sigma Sigma owned their house on Jefferson and may still own it. There’s another sorority or fraternity in it now.
Fiji owns the Fiji house. Pi Kapp owns the Alpha Delt house. Delts own the Beta house. Chi phi owns the Chi Phi house. Theta Chi owns land on College and Park. Phi Delt owns the Delta Chi house. KA Pike and Sig Ep built and own their houses.

Not trying to cause trouble just asking. If ATO and Delt have been turned down by IFC what would prevent them from just coming back anyway and registering as a student organization? If they’ve served their 5-year sentence, what is the reason to keep them out? Public university is required to recognize just about any group as a student organization if they meet the criteria. ZBT existed for years (according my uncle) as a student organization without being in IFC. If there is no legitimate reason to deny them, ATO and Delt could come back anytime as student organizations. No IFC dues. Protected by law. Just a thought.

As someone in IFC, this is the truth. Expansion is currently closed at the moment. No chapters are officially returning, but there are talks on ATO coming back. If this were to happen, it would be voted on by IFC.
I’ve seen alum from Delt and Pi Kap also say they are retuning, which I find hard to believe. Nobody wants the frat who murdered a pledge to come back, and Delt also has a fairly shady history (though they have a much better chance than pi kap to come back). I definitely could see ATO returning, but it might be tough to get votes. Larger fraternities are currently enjoying less competition at the top, allowing them to get massive PCs and be choosier about who they take.
Middle sized fraternities would also be hesitant to vote on this, as it would cause even more competition with rush, and can cause issues with housing (D Chi about to lose house to phi delt, Sig chi and pi lam currently looking to upgrade, LXA hopefully grows to the size where they can get a better house). Adding another chapter, who would inevitably grow into a middle sized chapter, would cause even more competition.
Smaller fraternities would also probably not want another house to come back. If a chapter with a large alumni base were to return, they would take kids who couldn’t get bids at middle or top tier houses for their first 3 or 4 pcs. This would leave bottom tier frats with virtually nobody of quality to bid.
This doesn’t even bring up the fact that we now have more fraternities than sororities. For a while, there were more sororities than fraternities, which allowed student org pairings, sweetheart comps, etc to be much more favorable for fraternities, but this has flipped now. FSU IFC honestly messed up by adding so many. If some of the smaller frats with little to no history die out (d Sig, chi psi, ZBT, etc), or we see some more frats get kicked off, then some larger fsu alumni chapters, like ATO if they don’t soon, maybe Delt, would probably return. But until then, it benefits absolutely nobody to bring more controversial fraternities back to FSU.
