Lmao if you check their scorecard, they have zero significant chapter awards, barely any sisters in respectable RSO leadership positions, and their philanthropy numbers are less than their dues. After all of this, if you still want to join this srat, you deserve to be bottom tier.

once my “sisters” learned I was dropping, they disowned me faster than any family member ever could. crazy how semesters and friendships suddenly mean nothing once they lose your money, 0/10 don’t recommend for future rushes.

Even if those message leaks were not from alpha gam and they may not be disbanding, which I’m 90% sure they were and that they are gonna disband, I would still urge no one to rush them and for them to disband. It’s the best possible outcome. Let the alumni support build up again, repair the toxic and lacking sisterhood, rent out the house to axo while they build a new house so they can make some money back, and actually get hq involved for the betterment of this chapter. Use the girls who dropped experiences as a basis for how not to run and treat girls in a chapter and go from there. Keeping this chapter open and barely being able to afford things and have a lack of support from campus is a disservice to these girls who are foolish enough to rush it.

My mom was in alpha gam when they were good, a couple decades back. She says that she keeps almost no contact with the newer members/alumni because of the kinds of girls they’ve been recruiting. They used to have a lot of “but alpha gam has this:” factors like higher gpas, a welcoming and non-judgemental sisterhood, strong philanthropy, and no fakeness or drama. Alpha gam now suffers from all of these: GPA is nowhere near as high as it used to be, with newer classes having significantly lower GPAs, lots of cliques and fakeness among the sisters, next to nothing raised for philanthropy, and an overall poor experience for how expensive their dues are. My mom is a proud alpha gam, but she laments at how far her chapter at fsu has fallen. It’s tragic that the sorority is finally coming to a bitter end after so much struggling. They could’ve changed things so many times over, but they never did.

This sorority to me is like a poorly run business. say you’re job hunting, and find a job that seems to check all the marks. After getting the job and through your experiences and from coworkers, you now find that pay doesn’t equal the amount of work you’re required to do, the business is having employee retention and money issues, management is unfair and coworkers are rude. Even worse, there’s nothing you can say or do that’ll help the situation. Would you recommend someone to your workplace or want to stay? No. It’s the same thing for alpha gam. First impressions are everything, and from what you can tell on their Instagram and scorecard on the Greek life website, there’s not much there that can compare to the other business, aka sororities on campus. It’s not bullying, no one is leaking these womens nu des or leaking their names or physically forcing them off campus, it’s simply pointing out many red flags. People are allowed to have opinions, and if the majority opinion is that this sorority is terrible, then that’s something to consider into the decision of which sorority to join.
