If Arkansas girls can't get in Chi O, Kappa, or Pi Phi, they will choose Tri Delt over Zeta.

So many of these post are about what “Arkansas girls” do and who “Arkansas girls” like. The fact of the matter is that the University of Arkansas isn’t growing at one of the highest rates in the SEC because of Arkansas girls. The number of wealthy families with top-tier daughters from out of state outweighs what is coming from Arkansas.
This year’s freshman class was 3,000 Arkansas/4,100 out of state, and it’s doubtful this split moves in the other direction anytime soon, if ever.
The houses that continue to overlook these top-tier out of state girls will suffer in the long run, and the houses that adapt to the evolution of the university towards the out of state student will eventually take the top tier.
Right now, of the old houses, Tri-Delt and ZTA have adapted. KD is probably the best of the newer houses. The longer the current Big 3 tolerate the pressure from alums to hold on to their old Arkansas legacy, the worse it will be for them in the long run.

I don’t agree with this. Top 3 still maintain a stronghold and here’s why. These houses do take OOS girls and the myth they don’t is inaccurate. Right now they don’t take as many girls overall because they can’t in order to raise the other 9 houses’ numbers. This year these 3 top houses took 50-75 fewer girls in recruitment. PiPhi maybe a few more but you get the idea. OOS girls retention rates at the university are lower. They get homesick, transfer and graduate early due to cost savings leaving spaces to fill. Definitely not all of them but much more likely. Thats why KD, a good house, had the 2nd largest pc this year. Long term retention is the problem and these other 9 houses have to work harder year round to keep their girls. Is it fair? Nope. Do they have great girls? ABSOLUTELY. They all do. I do agree XO has a problem with too many legacies. Alums way past their prime are running the chapter and the “top of the hill’ attitude is geographic only at this point as far as students on campus are concerned. KKG and PiPhi don’t care as much about legacies. Does it matter? Yes. But they will release you. I wonder what OOS percentages are for each house. Since you seem to be in the know, hot taker, do you have those stats? Genuinely curious.

They just say they don't want them to save face because you're not getting Zeta unless you're a top Arkansas PNM. Zeta has a long history and is consistently ranked a top sorority. Most Arkansas girls follow where their moms and sisters were members. Zeta isn't a high school 2.0 for Arkansas students because they primarily recruit out-of-state girls.
