portland vs. tempe

So my sister just moved to Portland and we’re spending thanksgiving at her place. This is also my first time in Portland and I gotta say this place is so great. Why are the people here so relaxed, chill, modest, and genuine but people in Tempe are so materialistic, try hards, and have a fake nice attitude? I can just tell by the clothes and cars. People in Portland are fine with wearing thrift shop clothes and driving your average Toyota/Hyundai. People in Tempe MUST HAVE a Mercedes/BMW and MUST WEAR vineyard vines. Give yourselves a break people 😂😂
