rushing next semester
by: yI will be a sophomore next semester and plan on rushing. Is there a certain GPA you need? Also I want to rush a fraternity that's at least somewhat relevant but not too selective. What are your guys' opinions? If the GPA requirements vary for each fraternity, what's the GPA requirement for the fraternity you recommend for me?

at TKE or Sig Chi isn't too hard to get a bid. DKE is pretty selective and is up there with Kappa Sigma and Lambda Chi

Do you have at a 3.0 or higher? If not take some easy summer courses and boost your GPA.
Dude if you rush a frat for no other reason than it's "relevant" and you don't really mesh with them. You are going to have a crappy time. Just go to rush and see who you feel comfortable and have fun hanging out with.

Greek rank "bottom tier" can be different than true bottom tier. Yes you have kids in Sammy and Aepi that are just weird and are actually bottom tier because they are just weird kids. Then there are a couple not as well known fraternities that are labeled "bottom tier" on greek rank, but in reality have some cool guys and still throw down.
Moral is that greek rank shouldnt define who you want to rush but rather give you a basic outlook as to who is popular and who isnt.

I think they are fun. A couple guys are really great however they always seem to be in trouble. They could be relevant or middle in the near future if they cleaned up a bit.

Honestly Sig Chi. DKE is too wild and douchey. Sig Chi is chill and still throws down.

It is impossible to pick one.
I personally like Pi Kappa Phi. They have a lot of really great guys and they love their philo.
I also really like Kappa Sigma. They are super chill and friendly. I could go on forever on why I love them.
Also Sig Tau and Delt. They are basically the same frats but both are super cool and have awesome parties.
Lastly I think AEPi & Sig Nu are showing great potential for their first semesters on campus. I love underdogs and nationally both of these frats are top. I have met most of them and they both are a solid group of men.

Not everyone joins fraternities just for partying. Just like not everyone joins a sorority for popularity. It's really sad. This sounds like the priority list of a 15 year old kid but you're an actual adult. It would be less pathetic if you were 15 at least then you'd have an excuse.

is this true? are off-campus houses really less selective than say Lambda or Kap Sig?
