Sorority Initiation

If you go on the jmu fsl website and go to “organization scorecards” you can look and see which sororities have a history of hazing or have gotten in trouble. Here’s some of that info

Alpha Delta Pi: caught with an alcohol related offense, at risk of getting kicked off campus if caught again

Alpha Sigma Tau: reported a ton for alcohol related hazing over the past few years, at risk of getting kicked off campus if caught again

Tri Delta: alcohol and hazing offense reported back in 2024, now in good standing

Phi Mu: alcohol at an unregistered party in 2024, now in good standing

Sigma Kappa: big hazing offenses in 2022/2023, now in good standing

congrats if you got a bid, but lowkey jmu greek life could be pretty toxic. The drinking is average but the superficial stereotypes are definitely true. It’s awful how girls during recruitment will completely ignore you if you don't fit a certain aesthetic. My own sorority is exactly like this, I've been here two years and certain older members act like I don't exist (guess I’m not blonde or pretty enough). Good luck to the pledges, but if you didn't get a bid, count it as a blessing.
