really???

I've been accepted to Mizzou, but reading this page and seeing the cattiness, animosity and sarcastic comments disgust me. I don't want to be classmates with people like you.

If you truly draw conclusions based on mean-spirited and ignorant comments from trolls, then there is no place for you at this school. We prefer people who make up their own minds based on factual information.

If you wanted to make a point, you should have opted to not write gibberish. ^^^^^^^^^^^

If mizzou is so incompetent that it has led you to believe coherent English is gibberish, perhaps you have a larger problem than your tactless student body... although that would also explain the lack of self awareness...

I guess this is why people accuse us of being Moms.

Not a mom, Not even an English or journalism major. Just a proud Mizzou student and sorority member who can't stand it when someone isn't even aware she is embarrassing herself by writing at a fifth grade level. This is college. Step up to the plate.

Yet that same journalism degree seems to have taught you that it's more important to nitpick grammar and syntax than it is to understand the actual message. What's the point of having that degree if you never learn critical thinking skills? If you lack introspective abilities? Dot my I's and cross my T's all you want, it doesn't make your school more approachable or welcoming. Instead of taking my critique to heart and using it to improve yourselves and your school's image, you become combative and find any little way to try and make me look wrong. You're just proving my point. BTW, my comment is coherent, which by definition means logical and consistent. Good luck in life, really...

Sorry, I misread that. You're not even a journalism major, yet you STILL care more about nitpicking yntax and grammar than actually bettering yourself and your school. Think about that...

Very few Greeks even comment on this site anymore. It's been taken over by trolls & rejects just trying to stir up negativity. Mizzou is awesome, talk to students & alumni before making a decision.

Tbh I don't even think 30% of our Greeks even know about this site, let alone use it. There are way more students then the people on here. Also, the Internet is unfortunately an easy medium for people to let out the worst of themselves. A lot of what people say on here isn't a reflection of who they are. The factor of anonymity just gets to people. We're a pretty cool student body, we love our tradition and we love our football (not too good at it, but we love our tigers anyway), and we love to be involved. Please come visit Mizzou and see what we have to offer for yourself, don't let Greek Rank or media make that decision for you. As far as being in a sorority goes, I promise you that becoming apart of a sisterhood might be one of the most rewarding things you can experience in college, so don't be discouraged to go through recruitment. I'm sorry about the impressions given to you, but this is not Mizzou. We are one big (shambly) family and being a student here has been one of my best experiences in life.

I completely agree with you. I'm deciding where to go next year, and a simple google search for Greek life brought this site up immediately. I don't see the same level of hate on other schools' sites - not even close! I can't believe someone said that "there is no place for you at this school" just because you were discouraged by what you read on here. For a HS senior trying to find a college home for the next four years, you take EVERYTHING into consideration. The overall feeling I get about Mizzou is definitely tarnished, and I'm sure you're going to go off on me for that. Go ahead..

I'm not sure you will do very well in college if you are so easily influenced by trolls on a tacky website. I'm not sure we will miss you. And your opting out just leaves more room for people who really want to be a part of what is considered one of the best and most successful Greek programs in the nation.

And how is a 17 year old HS kid going to know that? Especially if they have no experience with forums like this, and terminology like "troll", "GDI" or "OP"? They are crazy busy with school, sports, friends, etc. and know nothing about college yet - until they do what anyone would do, and begin to research online. There are no instructions that come with GR, and until you delve into it a little bit, they wouldn't necessarily know that any anonymous loser (like yourself) can come on here any say anything they want.

Thanks, Grandma, but do you really think that a 17- or 18-year-old doesn't know what troll or OP means? My cat knows what they mean. And if they know nothing about college, they shouldn't be making the decision. I think we know who the biggest loser is on this site. Time to put on those yoga pants, go to the grocery store and then start dinner, because the hubby doesn't want to go out to dinner yet again because you spent all afternoon trolling this site.

I'm sure I'm not. Because you probably don't even go to school here. My sorority doesn't take grandmas.

To those of you that think you're so clever with your sarcastic comments to these high school kids, just stop. You're misrepresenting Mizzou! Girls, please don't think we're all like this. There are some lonely, miserable people that haunt this page looking for something to say to make themselves feel like they are relevant. They deserve our pity, but don't give them any credit at ALL! The one talking about a 'grandma' is all over this site, and it's obvious because she always has the same type of comment. She hides behind her computer and is nothing more than a coward.

by: Hmmm....

Which is worse, some granma all over this site or someone calling her out for misrepresenting herself?

It's not about which is worse. It's about how badly this site reflects on Mizzou. And YOU, specifically are one of the worst representations I've ever seen. Can't you just get a hobby? Damn!

What do you suggest, Grannie? Knitting? Crocheting? Collecting doilies? You tell me I am the worst representation you have ever seen. But at least I represent the Greek community and am a student, while you're sitting in your faux colonial in the St. Louis 'burbs passing judgment on us. Why don't YOU get a hobby and stay off this site?
