gphi post bid day

by: waz

Did Gphi take someone who did not go through rush? I've seen a lot of pictures of a girl in gphi apparel and at events who didn't rush with other gphi pledges?

She is probably a transfer student.

She's a transfer student. I think KD has a transfer as well. It takes awhile for all the paperwork to go through and houses normally don't have time to deal with officiating everything while dealing with rush. Everything usually gets finalized and voted on at the first chapter meeting of the semester.

I saw a freshman who joined G Phi that didn't go through recruitment join G phi already. Definitely sketchy things happening over there

yes, they somehow did. she didn't rush because she missed the deadline yet gphi somehow took her. she is not a transfer.

Sometimes houses take girls after bid day who dropped completely from rush to make a quota

This girl was not dropped from rush, she was not even registered. Gphi took her because she was well known and she did not go through the formal recruitment process. I'm not sure how it's possible to save a spot on the bid list for someone who is not registered. Also, this means that she didn't not get fairly rushed like every other pledge.

She is not a transfer student and did not go through recruitment. That's why I was wondering how she got in shortly after bid day.

There are some serious conspiracy theorists on this board.

Any chapter can COB to total, at any time. Any chapter is allowed to COB a woman whether she participated in formal rush or not. I'm sure there is nothing to see here, folks. Considering they COB'd last year, is it really that shocking?

Well good for her for not having to go through the stress and everything that goes into recruitment and she was able to join the sorority of her choice when it was all over. This girl is going places in life.

I guess if any or all of this is true, and GPhi COB'ed, that pretty much settles whether they are in the same league as a top house, doesn't it? Sorry we're not sorry to expose Gamma Phi as just another lower-tier house that has to COB to make quota. No surprise here.

by: COB to total not quota

Every chapter made quota during formal recruitment. Chapter Total was revised to average chapter size immediately following formal recruitment including new members. This means approximately half the chapters would now be below chapter total making them eligible to COB. It could likely happen to any chapter at some point depending on transfers, early graduation, or inactive status.

This is what we know about COBing. The best houses don't do it. The houses that do COB are those that have lost members, either because they opt not to continue membership, don't make grades, drop out or flunk out. That, in a nutshell, is why the best houses don't do it: they have girls who opt to keep up their membership, they don't drop out or flunk out and they always make grades. So tell me again why anyone thinks GPhi is a top house.

are you mentally slow? quota and total are two different things. everyone made quota. someone very capably explained total adjustments above but you apparently can't read.

gphi had one spot available after total was adjusted and they gave it to a girl who was well known to many members. this is hardly the mass cob you are talking about. they are a top house so get over it.

oh and tri-delt is cobing right now, so much for your theory.
