You can be successful rushing as a sophomore, but it depends on a multitude of factors. Do you know a lot of girls in the houses you are interested in? To be successful at rush as a sophomore, it's important to have girls that can pull for you! It's also important to have a decent college GPA, ranging anywhere from a 3.2 and up.
I also have to ask the question as to whether you went through rush as a freshmen, and were cut, or just didn't rush at all? All these factors play a part. My advice, rush, there's no harm in trying.

No I didn't rush this year and my GPA for first semester is a 3.7 and I doubt it will go any lower this semester!

Me again, with that high of a GPA I don't think any houses will get you for grades, so you're safe in that aspect! As I said above, your best bet is to get to know girls in the houses you are interested most in. They can pull for you when push comes to shove! Also, it's always important to try to get letters of rec if you can, it's a good way for houses to get an introduction to you before recruitment even begins. Good luck, I really do hope you find a home :)

As a sophomore that rushed this past year, I would 100% advise you too! It's an awesome experience and lots of houses DO take sophomores. Just keep your grades and involvement up during your freshman year to help make you stand out from other PNM's during recruitment!

The best houses take a handful of sophs and the rest take a bunch so that they can make quota. But considering how good most of the houses are on this campus, I would say go for it.

If you DON'T go through rush, won't you always wonder if you made the right decision? The worst that could happen is that you don't like the way things go and you drop out of rush. But at least you gave it a shot. I think regret would be a very hard thing to live with.
