sophomore rush
by: ?What houses will absolutely not take a sophomore who's trying to rush?
#2by: Sophomore
Honestly as someone who rushed as a sophomore please don't get your hopes up on any houses. Mizzou unlike most schools doesn't have a specific sophomore quota so freshman have a huge advantage when rushing. Keep an open mind and a high GPA and someone is likely to give you a bid :)

I don't know the exact number but I think my sorority took ~10 sophomores! To us it doesn't really matter, especially if you're a transfer, but to some houses it might. All we care about is personality, grades, and if you'd fit right along with the other girls in the house.

last year every house except chi o took at least one sophomore, to my knowledge. If you have what a house is looking for they will keep you! its really as simple as that! they won't look down on you for being a sophomore, but you will have compete against freshman who do get it a little bit easier than the sophomores do.

1) have an outstanding GPA 2) Have some activities and volunteer hours while in college 3) Keep an open mind 4) Before you go in decide whether the goal is to be a part of Greek life or to get into a great house. Some of the best houses will take just 1-3 sophs and they are absolutely outstanding girls. So if the goal is to get into a great house you might be disappointed. But if the goal is to be a part of a sisterhood and enjoy what Greek life has to offer, then that improves your odds.
