by: ReallyThere is not a BAD house at Mizzou!!! Please go watch the bid day 2015 video-and if you get bored-fast forward to the last few minutes when they do the countdown. You will see the absolute excitement-and pride-that every single one of those houses has! Majority of girls will not let these boards influence them-a few will and sadly they are the ones that usually end up dropping because they didn't go with their gut feelings when going through recruitment. If you are smart, social, shy, pretty-whatever-go through recruitment with an open mind and you WILL find a house where you fit in..only you will know-you might be quiet and shy, but pretty and smart-and find you love the house everyone on this site has deemed the 'party' house...won't be true! you might be very beautiful and average grades but find it's one of the 'smart' houses you fit with! You might think you are average looking but a blast and it's that house they all refer to as the 'party' house that loves you and you feel a fit with-keep an open mind! these boards should be a basis for what you go in with but they mean absolutely nothing to you specifically because it's all opinion drawn! mizzou has a great greek life-watch the video and you will see everyone is absolutely thrilled on bid day-with EVERY house!

Is not just a bottom house but a struggling house. They're sweet girls and it would be awesome if they could turn things around, but it's understandable for a PNM to be wary of committing to a chapter that could conceivably be closed or be reorganized before they graduate.

There is no such thing as a "bad" house. Every house offers something different and special, even the ones you think are "bad." Just because you're too shallow to see the positive aspects in Zeta, Sigma, and houses that are undervalued, does not mean that they do not exist. PNMs: don't go into recruitment thinking you want a "good" house because every house is good!! You will find your home as long as you keep an open mind and be yourself when going into houses!! I promise as long as you do this you will love wherever you end up. Even if other people (@Eh) think there are "bad" houses, I assure you every house has wonderful girls that will love you.

Sigma may have lower numbers but not to the point of being shut down. They still have over 200 members - they are nowhere near shutting down. They would be shut down at around 100 or less. There aren't any houses on this campus that are truly struggling enough to be shut down. The last time a house was shut down, they had 40 members and total was over 150. They (SK) had less than 1/3 of the average chapter size... Sigma is nowhere near that. And they not only made quota but picked up a bunch of girls through COB this year, so stop spreading lies. The real concern would be not hitting quota for several years (meaning a huge number of girls suicided so they wouldn't end up in your house). Sigma may have some work to do, but they're not going to be shut down. Their newest PC is an improvement and that sets them up for a better recruitment this year.
There is NO bad house on this campus. Sure, numbers wise, some houses have less, but those girls are there because they value their sisterhood just as much as girls in "top" chapters. At the end of the day, your bond with your sisters is what matters, not if it's seen as a "top house". Trust the system and you'll end up in the best house for you. If a house drops you, why would you want to join a house where you're not wanted? Every invite you get is a house that WANTS to get to know you and potentially invite you to join their sisterhood, so appreciate each invitation and forget the houses you're not asked back to.

Agree with the OP, there is not a bad house here. Disregard most every single thing you read here and follow what you feel is the best fit for you. Are there stereotypes, yes-do they describe every person in a house, no. Are there people that don't fit the 'stereotype' someone has placed on their house still fit in and feel comfortable in their house-yes. You'll know where you belong-just enjoy the whole experience.

Hopefully all new pnm will read-again, THERE IS NOT A BAD HOUSE AT MIZZOU! And honestly, most houses support every single house here. PNM-you have the greatest week ahead of you-don't let ANYONE influence it-you will not have a single complaint about recruitment! PLEASE, don't let the stereotypes scare you away-the smartest house has many social girls that keep everyone in tact, the pretty, party house has a group of girls that go to the library almost every single night, the random house place in the top 3 of grades every year, not to mention they have some unbelievable beautiful girls, and the odd ball house has, honestly, some of the most beautiful girls of the class of 19

Just watched the Livestream Bid Day 2015 video and it's pretty obvious everyone is thrilled with whatever house they end up in. Better to watch that and each sororities bid day videos than to come on these boards which are pretty confusing to know what to believe. Excited for registration to start this week!
