junior and senior participation in greek life

Freshman and sophomores are the ones who really care and make up almost all band parties unless there's a really cool band. By the time you are a junior you can go to the bars and it doesn't really matter what house you're in. That's why it is so important to pick a house you genuinely like irregardless of which house is "coolest" because you will have your best friends come from your pledge class. Most people stay active at least 3 years and a lot of times 4 to influence the freshman if they actually care

So then is it really worth it to pledge as a sophomore if most people drop as juniors and seniors?

If you're already planning on dropping after 1 year and you haven't even rushed yet why would you bother? Girls don't rush with the intention of dropping, stuff just comes up as you get older

Most juniors and seniors do NOT drop.
Some do, but certainly not "most."
Generally seniors get a good bit of leeway since they may be on internships, study abroads, etc. Some chapters allow seniors to opt out on some things.
But most chapters still depend on juniors and seniors to fill leadership positions, serves as big sisters, pass on traditions.
The fun does not end at the end of your sophomore year!

depends on the house. if they are sticking around as they become juniors and seniors, it is usually leadership stuff or bc they plan on being active with alum groups after school and want to keep networking opportunities.
