by: springrusheeI am interested in a Christian sorority at UA after being here for the first semester, but I feel as if I need to know everything I can before I commit to a sisterhood for life. What are these girls like? Looks wise? Reputation of the sorority? Chances of getting a house on campus?

I don't believe they are interested in getting a house. A house is very expensive to maintain, not to mention build, and I don't believe that is part of their program. Reputation - not really one way or another. They're just not that visible on campus. Looks? Find their website, look at the pictures, and judge for yourself. Like every other sorority, they have good-looking members and not-so-good-looking members.
Now.....if you're so concerned about their looks, maybe you don't belong in a Christian sorority.

If you've been here for a semester, you should be able to go meet some of the members and ask them your questions.
If you are dreaming of a traditional Panhellenic sorority experience with a house to hang out in, and lots of polished women friends there are many Christian women in all the sororities. You can join a Christian student group at church.
What do you really want out of a sorority experience?
Perhaps a smaller Christian sorority is comforting because you will get to know all your sisters pretty well. You won't have to compete in so many levels. Does this sound good to you?\n\n\n\n\n

I'm an ADChi and if you're interested in rushing us I'd suggest emailing our recruitment chair and coming to info meets once school starts back up. Our rush process is set up so that you really are able to get to know us and what we are about before committing to any thing. Growing our sorority and improving our retention rate is really important to us. We have a really strong sisterhood and we are all very close knit. Our organization is very similar to traditional Panhellenic chapter just smaller and with some Jesus thrown in.
As far as getting a house goes we will most likely be getting one in the next few years or so. It would most likely first start with a house on fraternity row and then move to sorority row once all the bigger sororities are finished with their expansion.
I feel like we have a pretty good reputation among people who actually know us. Everyone I've talked to that has had an interaction with our girls usually has nice things to say.
