Hola Chica.
There are a bunch of us here. Mostly scattered around the "new row" houses. I will not share my affiliation, but honestly I think all but a few of the really stuffy houses are open to latinas. The houses that are not really open to latinas are not really against it, but rather are pretty set in their ways and go with girls with connections and relationships already in the house. A spanish girl without connections to a house is probably a long shot at those houses, but you would not want to be there anyway, most likely.

Haha I'm latina and one of my best friends in-house is latina as well, and we are very involved members of an old row house! It's definitely just a thing of there aren't that many people of hispanic descent at the university to begin with, but it's not really something that's like a factor in whether or not you'll get a bid. It definitely won't deter houses from rushing you!!

If you come in with no recs you're going to have a hard time and very few options no matter who you are.

EVERYBODY - Latina or not - needs to get recs! You CAN do it. You and your mom need to start asking now to find out who among your friends is in a sorority. You'll be surprised by how many you know!
