I was an oos with decent recs and honors grades and good involvement and sports. No "in house" girls pulling for me because did not know any very well. I went to preference day and a number of spring teas. My final three for pref were pi phi, zta and kkg. I won't say where I ended up. All of old row released me by skit except kkg. I never thought PM and Aphi were rivals or were even very similiar at all. Very different feel to the places and what they seem to value (I liked Aphi more but kept PM on my list after first round for reasons I cannot explain in hindsight and probably should have tried to get to know Aphi better because I have friends there now and they like it). I would think the cross rushing is like this (please don't construe this as any sort of ranking):

adpi/aoii
agd/xo/pm
aphi/dz
axo/ddd
kd/kkg
pbp/zta
kat/dg/gpb

Very much agree with the first girl. Phi Mu Zeta and A Phi take the prettiest girls and for the most part only the prettiest.

it may be just me but i never felt the selections were so superficial as to be based solely on looks. agree that pm, aphi and zta girls are usually considered attractive and stylish and within their own little cross-rush rivalries looks and style could end up mattering i guess, but this was not my personal experience.

With second poster. I think this is more how it is:
I think certain houses cross rush for different qualities. So you might get a girl ddd would like for being well rounded, but they might not have the best connections, so they might end up elsewhere.
Based on where you're from: ddd, kd, kkg
Based on your grades: xo, axo
Based on your looks: pm, zeta, aphi
Based on your well roundedness: ddd, pm, axo
Based on your sweetness: agd, Adpi, gpb

I gotta agree with #3. I would say to maybe move PM out of the the only looks category and put the into the well rounded category. Everything else looks spot on.

Thank you! That's just my opinion from being in it, and sorry to the houses not named. I think all the houses look for similar things, but rank the priority differently. That's why there is such an argument over top houses, AND why there is a good fit for everyone. :) pnm: pay attention!

The inbred, old money Alabama girls are cross rushed by all the old row houses

this is just nasty. I was OOS with no connections and ended up in an old row house. please stop.

Poster 3 has the best yet! I'll add:

ddd, kd, kkg - based on zip codes only
xo - a little bit more flexible....all the way around
add Theta to the sweetness category

KD and kappa
Aop, dg, dz
Zeta, phi mu, alpha phi
Theta and gamma phi
Adp and pi phi

Those are the houses I could pair.
Chi o takes from everywhere
Alpha chi- a lot of in state girls with good grades
Tri delt- left over in state girls
