junior formal recruitment
by: HeyHey I saw a post regarding junior FR and y'all said its not impossible to get a bid but I was curious what the chances were in houses that are considered "upper tier"I have friends in these houses but I'm unsure if they take juniors and will even be able to help me. I don't want to ask my friends cause I don't want to make them uncomfortable. Thanks

If they're your friends, it doesn't matter how old you are. As long as they vouch for you and convince their sisters to do so, then you will be fine. But that depends on how good of friends you are with these people. I know a girl who was a junior and got Phi Mu because her best friend in the entire world was a Phi Mu and she also was very pretty with great grades and lots of recs. but I also know juniors who only had "casual" acquaintances in a few houses who had a rough recruitments. It depends on you as a person and the type of connections you have.
Honestly, you really need to get this whole tier system out of your head. That's what makes people have "bad" recruitments. If you like a house, like it because you feel like you fit in--not because what people say about it. A sorority should not be about a popularity contest.

Well by uncomfortable I mean I didn't want them to like not give me a straight answer. And I could care less about tiers! I just didn't know how to describe the houses I have connections in without giving too much info!
I have mentioned it to my best friend and she was super supportive and she brings me to the house so that I can meet girls.

And I'm not trying to be rude, but these girls are obviously not that good of friends with you if you are too concerned about making them uncomfortable. Have you told them that you're interested in going through recruitment? What was their reaction?
