shame on agd
by: Anti-machineFor not supporting your sister in her quest to be HC queen. You were strong enough to stand up to your advisors, why not the Machine?

Huffington Post published some of the GroupMe and Text messages that older AGDs sent to members. It's pretty shameful all around. They're actively trying to throw their own sister under the bus. Honestly, I originally had no opinion on the matter - I was always going to vote on whoever I wanted regardless of what my sorority said, but I can say that I hope that Halle wins this race. It's not like the Machine will know who I voted for anyways.
I mean, sucks for Katelyn, she is very qualified too, but this is for Queen, not SGA President.

Now that results are out, maybe AGD played their cards right on this one from a strictly political point of view. They toed the line and kept the Machine happy and can still brag in their preview brochure and during rush that they had a sister on this year's homecoming court. (Of course, it still doesn't say much about what they value -- but you have to give them credit for potentially successfully gaming the system. Time will tell whether the terrible PR from failing to publicly support their sister hurts them in the long run more than continued Machine support and the good PR from having an HC court member)

I would expect that any house I join would support me in whatever I did. I probably wouldn't get a chance at homecoming queen cause I'm not pagaenty, I'm more into volunteerism, leadership, and academics. But the only reason to join a sorority (according to my mom) is for the sisterhood. If your sisters don't support you, you sorority wouldn't seem to be that good.
#16by: Which would you risk?
#18by: Okay
I am pretty sure all the other sororities would have done the same. This time it was AGD. Next time it will be one of the others. It's like a never ending cycle. If any of the sororities had a brain, they would band together and take out the machine. Fraternities can't function without sororities anyways.

Not just huffington post. Also teen vogue and multiple other articles by different outlets. Those text messages are bad.
