our "panhellenic" system
by: HahaIs one of the sickest, unhealthiest Panhellenics in the country. A close second to UT. You don't hear the houses at Auburn or other SEC schools taking about and tearing each other down like this. I love my sorority and my sisters, but our "Panhellenic" is a disgrace and an embarrassment to the University. Everyone's crying about the huge PCs, but do you honestly think ANY other NPC would be interested in colonizing at Bama, which would require a multi million dollar investment, with such a vicious, unsupportive Panhel? Maybe that's why we've been open so long and no one is biting. Look at how DG and APhi are treated, not to mention the older "lower tier" (in your twisted minds) groups. No NPC in their right mind would choose to colonize here unless MAJOR changes are made within our "Panhellenic" system.

Borrowing this from "omg"-thank you
This is so embarrassing and unpanhellenic! Do you even hear yourselves? People here are just as focused on Old Row as they are the Big 6 at Texas. It's so immature and unflattering. Are all of you new freshman? Because if you're older than that, and still making these kinds of "tier" comments, you're a bottom tier person, regardless of what house you're in.

You people must not actually be engaged in campus life because I see the PCs from all the different sororitys being very engaged with each other and with a definate sense of greek community. The tut, in particular, really fosters this. Things have hardly even started.

First, there aren't that many NPC sororities left that are big enough to build a BIG house. The ones that are large enough are waiting for the "musical chair" construction to end, and that won't happen for at least another year.
Second, oh, we're so horrible that we have record numbers of women wanting to join sororities each year, and we have an over 90% placement rate. Yes, so awful. NOT.
Third, Panhellenic cooperation is the best it has been in a long time. In real life - NOT ON THIS SITE, which is not real life.
Fourth, there are way worse places. I just heard that rho chis at UNC-Chapel Hill yell at their PNMS and treat them horribly, resulting in huge numbers of women dropping from recruitment.
And Fifth: no, you can't imagine how a PC of 130 can bond when all you have to compare to is a PC of 30 or 40, you old biddy. It happens the same way small groups bond - the girls work together and share experiences, laughs, and jobs. Wait until after homecoming. Those sororities will bond like nobody's business.
You're not a student - get off this site!

Have you read the comments on here? Our sense of "community" is atrocious!! True feelings come out behind the anonymity of a keyboard, which is really sad. The girls in Tut may be close now, because many of them were in the same RC group, or they're roomies/hall or floor mates/knew each other before/have classes together etc. Once they get fully "in" to their sororities, they will hang out less and less, and then eventually they'll start making the same kind of comments found on here. That's just the way it is.
