Hi all! I was just wondering to get a little more info on SDT here. I've talked to some girls in the house, but I just want to get all the info I can. I tried formal recruitment as a freshman and was released, I thought I had moved past the whole greek life thing, but after returning to campus for my second year and seeing all the girls with letters, I want to be part of something bigger! Any thoughts?? Like what are they like from an outsider's perspective? Thanks guys!!

If you're interested, definitely check them out -- they do COB, so they hold events and get-togethers year-round.

The pros: They're small enough that everybody knows each other. Sisterhood is reportedly very, very tight. Historic single-letter chapter that's important to SDT nationally. (One of the charter members at Bama went on to become SDT's national president.)

The con: Most Greeks consider them "irrelevant" because they don't do formal recruitment. As a result, their social calendar is limited mostly to the off-campus fraternities and fraternity colonies. I think they've also done stuff with the Christian fraternities and had joint events with ADX. That said, if you don't care about any of this, you're very smart. :)

Go for it! It is sort of "sorority lite" and provides a great outlet and experience.
