chances for oos next year?

by: OOS

Congratulations on another successful recruitment season! I am a senior in high school in North Carolina. I really want want to attend Alabama next year, but I am worried about my chances of getting into a sorority. Any honest advice? If I don't have a good chance of going Greek being OOS, I'll probably go somewhere in NC and cheer on the Tide from afar.

There are more OOS girls in sororities at Bama than instate-not by a lot, but it's a fact. Try to come to preview weekend and any spring meet and greets you can, and get at least 1 (preferably 2) recs to every chapter on campus. Make sure your GPA is solid and that you have plenty of HS activities and leadership. Follow advice on the Panhel website and other places about what to wear, conversations etc. You will be just fine coming from NC!!! Good luck and RTR! Hope to see you rushing next year :)

Also do some volunteering. Most sororities are into philanthropy.

If you're from North Carolina you will have no problem. As long as you have above a 3.0 and get some recs, you're basically guaranteed a bid.
