who knows who is on the "first" list?
by: PNMSo I know it's a bit disingenuous, but is it wrong to say "your house is my favorite" to every house that you go to tonight? I'm just still so confused as to which house I like better, but I want the houses to like me enough to put me on their first list. What if I go to my 2nd house and love them (and I tell them) but I go to my 3rd and it just blows me away and they're my new favorites. Will the girls of the second sorority hate me forever because they think I was lying saying that I liked them the most? Also who exactly knows the names of the PNMs on the first bid list? Everybody or just the President + VP Membership/Recruitment?

No, I don't think it's wrong to express to all 3 houses that you love them and would love to be a member IF that is actually the case. Don't be too over the top, but definitely let all 3 know how you feel about them. Also, none of the 3 would ever find out that you also told other groups the same thing...unless you're over the top about it. So, no, they won't hate you forever :). Typically only advisors, the President, and VP Recruitment/Membership see the actual bid list, but there could be (few) exceptions.

IF you genuinely feel that way about all 3, there is nothing wrong with telling all of them that you love them and can really see yourself being one of them. I wouldn't tell all of them they're your #1 because you never know which actives know each other, especially if hometown girls are preffing you at multiple houses.
In my house, only the president, rush chair, and rush advisor know who is on which bid list. It is definitely NOT common chapter knowledge which could be very hurtful info for PNM's to find out. On bid day, we shred all paper with daily invitation lists and bid lists for that reason.

To clarify further: You don't have to tell every house they are your top choice/favorite and be that specific but tell them you'd love to be in their house.. that you love their sisterhood, and that you aren't going to have a hard time making your decision.
