Lots of posts on here really bash sororities based on reputation alone, and I don't think that's fair. So I thought I'd try posting my impressions of each house based on experience I've had with members I've met. This is just from my personal experience and should not be taken as a generalization of the whole chapter. Take it with a grain of salt!
AXO - They're called the overachievers, and almost all the AXOs I've met fit that description pretty well.
ADPi - Definitely nice girls. Kinda quiet but very classy.
AGD - The "bring home to Mom" girls.
AOII - They're stereotyped as being really quiet, but every single AOII I've met has been really bubbly and energetic.
APhi - This is definitely the "we're gonna do our own thing" house.
XO - I get a sporty vibe from these girls, for some reason.
DDD - Extremely outgoing and quick to make friends.
DG - All the DGs I've met have been hilariously funny.
DZ - Introverted but really cool once you get to know them
GPhiB - Sweet, dependable, caring girls
Theta - They looked like they had the most school spirit on game days and always dressed cute
KD - These girls know how to have fun, and seem like they have a great sisterhood
KKG - Really mellow, laid back, pretty girls
Phi Mu - Everyone calls them Barbies, but the ones I've met have been very down to earth and not so different from other houses
Pi Phi - Smart girls who you don't hear about much.
ZTA - I've noticed that zetas are really proud to be zetas. Lots of house loyalty

I think the two houses are very alike except one is old row and one is new row

But what does that even mean, one's new row one's old row? One house has a majority of girls who knew each other in high school and speaks with an accent vs. Girls who aren't from Alabama?

has a long, uninterrupted history and presence on campus. They are very traditional and have strong ties to UA history/tradition. They built one of the first houses on campus.
ADPi was on campus before AGD, but only lasted 2 years. They only returned to campus decades later.
Both are great houses, both attract smart girls, but there are real differences between them due to their very different histories on campus.

Alpha Delta Pi came back 22 years after they left campus, not many decades after this person is saying. Both the chapters are rich in history and both excellent houses and you would be grateful to accept a bid to either.

ADPi came back the same year Phi Mu colonized (1931). I don't think anyone would argue that Phi Mu doesn't have a rich history on campus.

I agree with the take above. ADPi has more out of state girls than AGD, this is one difference. Both are conservative and nice girls that are fun too, but serious about school also. AGD, to me, is a little more sporty in terms of their recent new members (like pretty soccer girls, etc.) and small town girls do well there (but definately a good dose of Hoover, Vestavia however). ADPi, to me, has more girls that are sort of random in their humor, in a good way. Lots of friends in both and both are great.

Top 3
AXO/Phi Mu/DDD - smart, beautiful, wealthy, southern, old row
Other Top Houses
KKG/KD/XO - still excellent for the same reasons, just not top 3
Upper Middle
Alpha Gam/Zeta/Pi Phi - top of new row (or for AGD, bottom of old), very pretty girls
Lower Middle
ADPi/AOII/DG/DZ - not top houses but good sisterhoods, cute/nice girls, popular with oos pnms
Bottom
Theta/GPhi/APhi - not respected on campus for various reasons

I guess if you keep posting this same ranking over and over you think someone will believe it. Rankings don't matter, but where a new pnm feels at home does. End of story.

Nailed it. Don't let people tell you what you should want. Such a personal choice. If there is no fit and only brand, not worth it.

So what is the deal with Theta? Is it a "dork" sort of factor? I think that may be it, but I don't see it much in real life. Is it fair? I get GPHI and APHI in bottom. I also don't disagree that Theta is in the bottom group with them, but honestly I have not seen them being that bad. Maybe its just the actives I know who are fun and cool, about like DG/DZ girls. But it is true Theta is perceived in near the bottom rightly or wrongly.

This all started out so nicely. Why can't you say the same things about Theta/Gphi/Aphi as you said about the "tier" above. They all have good sisterhoods, houses, attract a lot of OOS women.

Both ADPi and alpha gam are kind of hard to describe, but they're not really the same at all beyond being smart and nice. Hopefully someone else can give you a better sense of the houses lol.
