spring teas
by: slightly confusedI've gotten a few spring tea invites and have heard different things about that weekend. obviously I plan on going to the parties I've gotten invites to but what about sorority houses I haven't gotten. invites to? I've heard both sides: that the parties are "open" and you can go to them all, or that they're invite only. Which one is correct? If I go to a party I didn't get an invite to will it be super awkward for me?

Agreed. The parties are "mostly" open. It's not like if you walk up without an invitation you get turned away at the door. But I find it odd that you would want to go to a house where you were not invited. I personally would not go.

I don't know how it works at your house but that's not how it works at mine. We buy the supplies/food, etc for the specific amount of girls we invited with a little extra and no more. Who shows up to parties uninvited anyways? What's even the point of invitations if you want them to be completely open? The idea is to start narrowing down the girls we want:

I say go with a friend and go to the parties she was invited to and take her to the ones you have that she doesn't. I did that and we both were welcomed by all the sororities. It was fun going with each other and others we met up with. I did get about 8 or 9 invites and was able to go to almost all houses. I did not go to a breakfast tea/brunch if I was at a party the night before. And now that we are giving teas we want to see all girls!

If I can't make it, I know I need to rsvp. But, I also still want to be on their radar. I just can't miss school that week to come to teas, even though that would be the IDEAL situation.

if you can't go it's cool. a lot of "made" girls don't come. If you are not a known commodity it helps though.

If they have an rsvp I would not go uninvited. If they don't, maybe walk ups are ok. I would not walk up though if no invite. If I did not make some cut based only on preview day, then I can take the signal. It's all good. Gonna trust the process and go where there is chemistry. Each house seems strong but they are each a little different from each other. 😀

from the invites and what I've heard so far, chi o is open invite!! I've seen multiple girls from chi o say that they want to meet as many girls as possible and there's no RSVP on their invite :) as for the other houses who have sent out invites so far (axo, kappa, zeta, agd, dz, and gphi), they've all had RSVPs and I would not suggest just walking into those.

Chio may say they are open but if you did not get one of the open invites... You are not invited and don't waste your time

I've had an active tell me to try to go to even the ones you aren't invited to! Would members be mad or think of me badly if I still went to ones I didn't receive inviatations from?
