Getting your first choice
by: ScaredI’ve heard so many people who didn’t get their first choice on bid day. What are the odds of this happening and should you tell your favorite house that you want to be there today? Need advice!

Yes! You should absolutely tell your favorite house that they are your #1 and you are so happy to be at their pref. You want them to rank you high enough on their bid list to match with them before they hit quota and they can't read your mind so you have to tell them!
The odds of getting your #1 choice are much higher than getting your #2, but no guarantee of course. Pref is the only round where your rank is equal to that of the sorority, so matching where you want is far more likely.
If it doesn't work out and you end up with your 2nd choice, put a smile on your face and embrace what's right in front of you, don't look back on what wasn't. Give that house a real chance and if you still aren't feeling it before initiation you can drop.
