Why do people at Bama brag about being rich when they live in the poorest/cheapest state in the US?? I’ve never met more snobby people in my entire life in the south and it’s so funny

Bama is about 60% out of state and people come here because they want the Southern SEC vibe, can major in just about anything, and there is tons of scholarship money (because rich people know that you don't get rich by spending money when you don't have to). That chip on your shoulder must really rub.

the state and the college are 2 seperate things.

Rich southern towns have country clubs and secret societies that you need to be vouched for by one to two family members who are part of that club to even apply for a membership
