Are KD and XO really the top 2 houses?

Someone told me everyone's first choice is KD and XO picks up the girls they drop. I've also heard they are the mean popular girls from high school and their side friends whose goal in life is to stay friends with the popular group. Which is true?
I've been followed by a lot of houses probably because I have a high gpa and a lot of activities. I know that doesn't mean any will keep me so I'm going in very open minded.

I wouldn’t rank them as top 2 but some people might. I would put them more like 6-7th. They are both good houses. Not every KD is mean. I have a friend who likes it now but had a hard time finding a friend group. I think if she had it to do over she would have pledged a different house.
I have no idea if a lot of XO wanted KD and settled for XO but I know for sure not all of them were not rushed by KD. They have as many weird girls as they do normal ones.

For KD it's someone from MB or someone from VH who wishes they were from MB type personality. If you are looking for something similar to the kind of mean but popular girls in high school it's a good fit. It's grade 13. XO has some of that (mainly the ones KD dropped) and some of I can't even explain personality. The girls I know in KD who aren't in that friend group I really like. It's a more cliquey house than some of the others.

I think the person who made that comment was probably referring to a personality not a financial status.They live where their parents live. Many from other areas in Alabama and from OOS are just as wealthy (or wealthier) than someone from MB but not all want to be in KD.

Again, I’m going to post this.
No one from VH, Hoover or Homewood is a sycophant that wishes they were from MB.
While this may be reality in someone’s head it’s not reality.
Actually kind of funny that some insecure soul has paid to take down my original post about this exact subject. 😂
MB mommies, climb back into your chardonnay bottle and cease trying to slander and harass the girls who grew up in the other wealthy and upscale Birmingham suburbs. \n\n\n\n\n

AGD also has its own identity. They are the uber competitive high gpa girls from high school. They have some really sweet girls but they also have some kind of weird ones. I personally would rank them toward the bottom of old row but they are a good house.

KKG takes too many rep risks to be top 3. I think they do better with top OOS than top instate. I didn’t know anyone instate who had them as their first choice going in. They are a really good house and this probably sounds harsher than I mean it to. They are just kind of hard to rank.

There is no such thing as a top house - there are desired houses and that is based on sooo many things. KD has really amazing girls from all parts of the country. KD is over 50% out of state - and those girls serve on council and participate in all the things - the current president is from out of state. Yes, KD is the first sorority on campus. Yes, they have a lot of traditions. Yes, the have a large alum group that helps keep the chapter running. Why is any of this bad? Do not come to Alabama or to the south and get upset cause KD sticks to tradition. Find another group that fit you.

Almost NO sorority at Bama is putting a New York/Long Islander on council unless she's drop dead gorgeous and Mother Theresa to boot. My friend is in Sigma Kappa and can't get a leadership position even though she is one of the most outstanding women in the chapter because she's ok looking and from out of state. Every house does it.
