Bama Greek life truth?

by: ????

Old Row alumni have long encouraged the University of Alabama to recruit clueless out-of-state/out-of-region students with generous merit scholarships, appealing to those seeking a “full college experience.” Many of these students join New Row fraternities and sororities, whose dues and spending help sustain both the university and the broader Greek system. This dynamic allows Old Row to preserve its social exclusivity while benefiting indirectly from New Row’s growth. The university, in turn, profits from higher tuition revenue, strong alumni donations, and a reinforced national image as a Greek-dominated campus—drawing in yet another generation of unsuspecting out of state/out of region applicants eager to buy into the same ideal.

Not very “exclusive” to be taking 50-100 pledges every year.
