How many upperclassmen rush
by: Sophomore
I’ve been told that rushing as an “upperclassman” you’re just compared to the other upperclassmen rushing sororities… does anyone know how many upperclassmen rush a year?
Along the same lines there’s so many posts you can look at to freshmen rushing and where they ended up but how can we gauge? (ie. What is the likelihood of going old row, getting dropped, getting a lower tier house, ending up with a house we don’t like for quota purposes?)

If you have been here for a year you have the advantage of already knowing members in houses who can pull for you. You need to let these connections know you are rushing. I don't know how many rushed last year but freshman quota was 131 and upperclassman quota was 5. But don't focus on the numbers because there is nothing you can do about it and it won't really affect you because quotas aren't determined until after pref. Your likelihood of any scenario you mention is the same as a freshman's, with the distinction that sororities don't care nearly that much about filling upperclassman quota, but will try to do so if they need to boost their house total, which every year is APhi, SK and Theta for sure. That is not to say you would not have a really great experience in any of those depending on how your vibe matches with them.

I went through as a sophomore. I had solid freshman year grades, recs to every house, and knew quite a few girls in NR houses and a couple in OR houses. I landed in my OR legacy house, despite knowing more girls in other houses and vibing with them more during recruitment. I had almost a full card every round (some tears for some houses that dropped me, but definitely glad I had some breaks in my schedule). I am very, very happy in my house and I’m from the west coast.
