The truth about AGD

by: Truth

Notice how it’s only seniors who are just disgruntled and fed up with college in general making problems for AGD. No freshman or sophomore thinks this way and love their chapter. PNMs this the usual case for every sorority’s seniors here, AGD is still a very good chapter here.

She was treated horribly. She paid dues and parents were supportive all 4 years to be treated that way right before graduation. By-laws adopted/adapted to suite a vendetta. She made a thorough case and she is articulate. She should be reinstated. Advisor should be embarrassed. Her little should be ashamed.

A whole chapter who has great academic, socials, and reputation does not need to be tarnished due to one girls bad experience. If that were the case every sorority everywhere would be bad.

It wasn’t just one girls bad experience, the survey speaks for itself.

It was skewed data that reflected not even freshman-juniors aka the people who actually enjoy the sorority. Seniors just had herd mentality when they didn’t want they wanted. You probably don’t even go here and know the full story.

One girl’s bad experience? Bad experience of being driven out? What a culture. A thriving chapter should easily be able to right a wrong.

Hey PNMs, AGDs think seniors don’t matter. Take note

Sure it’s a small sample group but it does reveal a big problem. Also, ur attitude reinforces the findings of the survey. U should stop, u r making AGD look worse. I know u r trying to defend them but it isn’t working.

She has only told her side of the story and there are always 2 sides. I'm sure AGD isnt going to publicly shout anything out either, so we are only hearing about her being a victim.
What's interesting is the fact that she ADMITTED she was on her 2nd Standards review, so she did something else prior to this icing on the cake to make them want to kick her out. Wonder what that could have been?
Sending that survey out was toxic and she knew that, but she sent it anyway. What did she think was going to happen to her? Her behavior is what got her kicked out, and she needs to own up to the fact that actions have consequences.
I'm not saying it wasn't a crappy thing for them to kick her our right before graduation, but what did she expect...another slap on the wrist???
What's sad about this is now that she has made it a public affair to try and get people on her "side", she's affected and hurt an entire chapter of over 450 girls who don't deserve this embarrassment. They didn't vote her out.
Also, the internet is forever and her public tirade could possibly have unintended consequences and follow her into her professional career, especially since she is a senior, graduating in a few short weeks, and looking for a job. Not a smart move on her part.

There are many actives and alums who have all been dragged to standards- it is very common. So do not act like going before the board is huge— we know the drill. Stop trying to throw shade at her— what would he impressive and speak huge to the sisterhood- if the chapter reinstated her. Right the wrong.

Clearly the person bashing the AGD that got kicked out is an AGD. PNMs take note of her attitude. See that there is no compassion or empathy in that post. In the post on TT it was clearly explained that the survey was help and make AGD better. Companies often seek feedback through surveys. It’s isn’t toxic. A large group of seniors felt unheard and unhappy. That is embarrassing to AGD. U as an AGD are calling it toxic because u are embarrassed. Instead of kicking the girl out, you guys should have really looked into why your sisterhood is failing. Sisters don’t say “you have to have consequences for your actions”. Sisters say let’s discuss your feelings/issues and come to a compromise or understanding. That is sisterhood. The way AGD kicked her out is toxic. The way they changed the bylaws to kick her out is toxic. Now they are getting a dose of their own medicine because they are suffering the consequences on social media.

@ Sigh, ppl that have “no skin in the game” don’t feel the need to “call people out”. You def have skin in the game. U r an AGD, maybe on exec or u r the advisor or an alum that is friends with the advisor. Ur behavior is so toxic on here and it’s a bad representation of AGD & u r so obviously associated w them. U also called the whistleblower names like idiot and princess, c’mon u care for a reason. Never said anything about her being reinstated not sure where that came from. So, slander is when someone makes a false statement. There was nothing false about the results of the survey so she can’t be sued for slander. From a PR perspective, ppl like u need to stop coming on here bc ur toxic attitude is making AGD look worse. PNMs r looking for sisterhood and fun. AGD is presenting neither one of those qualities right now. They look mean, nasty and toxic.

If seniors aren’t happy you have a problem with sisterhood, period. Who wants to join a house and only be happy for 2 years. Doesn’t make sense.

75 of the seniors are miserable and embarrassed to be Alpha Gams. That’s an enormous amount of unhappy girls.

seems like if their seniors were so very miserable they would have dropped out. but they didn't.

I feel like every house has issues, unfortunately the ones going on in Alpha Gam have been exposed for all of the internet to see. I have seen messages in the junior and senior group mes and they just don't seem to care anymore and will text just anything in the group mes (ie fed up in general)

Or…maybe consider what freshman/sophomore would actually stand up to exec / older girls in the house? Freshman and sophomore year is still a very new and vulnerable time where you’re still making friends and blinded by the fun and of swaps and old row boys lol. Just saying it wouldn’t make sense.

It would good if the younger girls came together and spoke up for this girl. Not sure if anyone on this site knows her and can speak for her character. Or is she just a troublemaker?

I disagree - she is smart, articulate and sticks up for herself - AS SHE SHOULD!!!!! I would hire her in a heartbeat.

Pretty dumb on AGD to kick her out when she was about to graduate but also pretty dumb on her part to bring it to social media. She’ll forever be remembered for this. It will follow her in her professional career and not to be dramatic but also could affect her future children. Everything doesn’t have to be a public reality show.

Most employers wouldn’t care about this drama. Greek system barely matters when you are done with college. This won’t hurt her career at all.

Employers don’t care about the Greek system at UA but they absolutely will care she sent a survey speaking negatively about an organization she was in and then when she was kicked out took it to social media. You are fooling yourself if you don’t think it matters. It’s kind of sad but this will for sure follow her.

@yikes, an employer literally won’t care about that survey. They don’t care about AGD, they don’t care about sorority drama. An employer that cares about sorority drama, gives 🚩🚩🚩. Adults and good businesses care about employment history and skills NOT sorority drama. Ur take is so off

My take is 100% accurate but we will have to agree to disagree. I do agree though they don’t care about sorority drama, it’s her digital footprint which is part of the hiring process that they do care about.

Personally while part of me thinks she’s brave, part of me agrees with the person who said it will hurt her professionally. I know someone who didn’t get a job off something much less viral they put online. And those alums are freaking everywhere. Hopefully she already has a job, if not she’d be smart not to advertise where she applies.

She was calm. And she also said positive things.
She was credible. This won’t hurt her.
Advisors need to understand and relate to these actives— they have skill sets that antiquated advisors do not.

AGD should right the wrong- they are strong enough to handle it. It would go a long way.
