FYI- you don’t always get the first house you Pref. Many, many PNMs get their second house. If you rank both houses at Pref, you are telling both houses you would accept a bid from either of them. You are guaranteed a bid from one of the two houses if you Pref both.
Some girls sit. Pref both houses they visit because they don’t want a bid from one of them. They then just Pref one house and risk not getting a bid. It is highly, highly recommended NOT to do that.
Once you Pref, you can drop out of recruitment but then you are ineligible to accept a bid via COB or spring recruitment. You’d have to wait a year to try again.

You don't know what you are talking about. If you drop after pref parties you can still do cob or accept a snap as long as you don't list either house. If you won't take a bid from one of the houses, it's actually better to suicide. If you don't get that house, you are still eligible to get a snap or cob.

None of this makes sense and the comment should be ignored by any PNM. By the way you are using the word "Pref" so incorrectly, it is clear you have NEVER actually been through the process.
