Realistic question, please explain PNM 23
by: Fall 20234.02 GPA, from a very southern state, classy style, very outgoing personality, came in initially not knowing anyone but made several connections to several old row houses. Any guesses which houses will automatically drop me regardless of connections and academic achievement? I understand nobody would know for sure, I just want an idea of which houses will drop or bid promise then drop. I know greekrank isn’t the best place to come to but I’d rather not ask my friends this… and I want to hear a variety of experiences/guesses. Also. Drama isn’t my thing. Very much trying to get out of high school cheer squad environments. So any advice on avoiding those houses would also be appreciated :)

What does "came in initially not knowing anyone but made several connections to several old row houses" mean? Are you already at Bama and rushing as a sophomore? If so and you have met people in houses and they like you then you should have a good rush as a sophomore. Or are you still in high school and you made "connections to several old row houses" on social media? Because those aren't real 'connections'. Connections means that members know you personally, not through social media, or know of you through very close friends or family who know you personally, and that you have shared personal experiences. You don't make connections with 'houses' you make connections with members in houses, and while social media is necessary to get on the radar of any house, what you described is not really much to count on.

A lot will depend on your personality and how you connect with the girls assigned to you. You didn’t mention looks, but based on what you said about your style, you don’t sound like you’d fit with ZTA, APhi, or GPB. While a 4.02 is good, that also depends on your test scores and extracurriculars for AGD, AXO, XO, and to some extent PM. You sound like you have some things working for you, so I’m sure you’ll find a great house.

Be prepared though. This describes probably 80% of girls going through. Standing out is really hard, and that’s why disappointed PNM’s happen. You can have a great background and still get dropped from your favorites because you don’t know anyone.
