My goals for recruitment
by: MeI really want to be a zeta or alpha phi next yr. I think I’d fit it most in one of these 2 houses. I care more about the social scene of Greek life and they’ve swapped and are friends with all the top frats and have stylish & cool girls. What do I need to start doing to help my chances to get a bid from one of them? Grades don’t matter as much for these houses and it’s more about looks/followers/how social you are? Not as intense of cutting as OR? My next 2 choices would prob be pi phi and gphi but been following a ton of zetas and aphis on ig and tiktok and obsessed with their friend groups and college experience so far in those houses. PM seems also up my alley but I’m from cali so not sure if I’d be successful with them.

Where do I even start?
Mistake one: Identifying only 2 houses you want to join. The houses pick you on this competitive Greek campus and what you want doesn't matter during the process.
Mistake two: Judging a house by their social media accounts. Umm, you may want to wait and meet some of the girls in each house first. I assume part of your want for a social house is to make friends and not just get drunk with frat boys, right?
Mistake three: Thinking that your social media will really set you apart from 2,500 other girls. Keep it clean because we notice illegal behavior, inappropriate posts and other negative and toxic behavior but a good social media presence won't make much of a difference for the early cuts. Your grades will. And, for the love of God, do not do rush tiktok. Honestly, you seem like a try hard type that may try that to get an advantage. Don't.
Mistake four: Setting a recruitment goal that is getting into a specific house. Your recruitment goal should be to get a bid from any house on this campus where you think you could make friends and have as many invites at each round as you can get so the houses can get to know you. Remember, houses pick you. You don't pick the house.
You may want to spend some time being a little more realistic and getting more mature about the process.

Fair points but in her defense the landscape has changed. A lot of these “types” of girls literally go in just following zeta, a phi, and phi mu. It didn’t hurt them at all going in with those on their radar - look at Kylan. Back in the day girls like that would be dropped or looked at weird for focusing on a few houses…the “looks” ones at that. Guaranteed way to get dropped from every other OR house besides PM though.

You should also keep in mind that if Aphi drops you you might still have a shot at PM. They really hate well rounded girls and as you are so eloquent and educated you might consider running for president? #sarcasm
