Why is Zeta not top?
by: slaythedayi’m confused if zeta is top or not at bama! i don’t go here but i assumed it is because of kylan went zeta, and all the songs on tiktok about it, you hear about bama zeta a lot!! there insta is also very followed! however, it seems from this site, a lot of people rank them as upper mid or lower top/ tier 2! why is that? also who else is top instead!

There is and will always be the old vs new row rivalry.
Old row thinks because they have been on campus longer by default their houses are more exclusive and therefore ranked higher...truth is many of the new row houses are chapters who been established equally as long nationwide but perhaps are 20-75 years newer to campus. Truth is new row houses are just as elite but the "southern" discriminatory attitude of old row is what you read on here... and for clarity I'd totally agree ZTA is a top house at Bama but as you can imagine the old- row native bama belles can't and won't accept change.( pretty northern girls) Honestly why anyone would choose Bama to attend is still a mystery to me as it's not even in the top 100 universities in the country. Probably explains the discriminatory thinking

Honestly bama is a back up school for most who don’t get into their top state university schools. I mean geez the acceptance rate is ridiculously high.

ZTA is great at Tik Tok, but they have a lot of girls drop out every year, they have one of the lowest gpas, they aren’t very involved on campus and they take a lot of reputation and grade risk types, so that gives them a less classy rep on campus. Check out the COB list that came out after rush this year.

Zeta is a middle tier house for those reasons. There are at least 8 houses here with reputations than Zeta.

Why do you think Zeta is a top house? They are bottom in retention, grades, involvement and respect on campus. They’re middle in social - the top fraternities don’t party with them. They take the reputation and grade risk girls the top houses drop . How is that supposed to make them a top house?

Zeta is horrible they try and be what the old row houses are! And Bama is good for one thing football other than that the academics here are just low and all everyone cares about is football and reason people come here is to party and go to football games. The acceptance rate is so high!

I think people from other schools get confused (not just about ZTA but about a lot of the houses at bama) because there is a difference between what's considered top tier here and top tier at other schools. For most schools, it's the "hot girl houses" that are the top and other things don't really matter. (for example Aphi here would 100% be viewed as top in most schools and is not here) Bama views it more as a whole package deal. Like yes you will find super attractive girls in the top houses but they also want you to be involved, hold yourself to a level of respect and accountability, have a good GPA, not draw negative attention to your sorority, etc. They also consider where you are from at this school (at lease old row does). Not saying top houses at other schools don't attract or go after wealthy girls, but likely care less than bama does about your home state/town
