Warning from an Alum
by: im rightI graduated a few years ago and used to spend a lot of time on this site. Like insane amounts of time. Tiktok made me curious to revisit. Just want to offer a warning to not invest too much of your attention to what's written and discussed on here. I was in a top old row sorority and loved it. But life as an adult has literally nothing to do with greek life, and very few of my peers would even be able to name a single srat/frat. I have friends that were greek too, but no one ever talks about it. Like it's kinda weird if you do. Basically the real world doesn't gaf about greek life, and I regret the amount of time and energy I wasted on here getting hurt over mean comments or trying to make my house look good. Spending time on this site made me bitter, mean, and honestly more superficial than I already was. It's just not that deep. No one cares irl. Enjoy the experience while you're here but don't let it take over your life.

For the most part I feel this is true unless you become involved with your sorority after graduation. If you do then some of the competitiveness to be the best is still going to be there. Interesting enough though if your house was say top at Bama you will be working with alums that may have been in bottom tiers at their university. It becomes a humbling experience as I have witnessed via my mama and her various friends.

SIDE NOTE WARNING this also goes for all the tshirts, sweatshirts, bags, etc. with letters you'll buy. It's the best thing ever while you're in school but even two years after graduating I was already embarrassed to be seen still wearing sorority letters. So get what you like but don't waste your money, you will regret it.

This is true. I was president while in undergrad so I was super involved with the group of alums who worked with us and some definitely came from bottom tiers at other schools (not that it matters). I've considered joining an alum group but don't have the time rn. I will just say one girl I knew in my sorority from a different southern school ended up working for nationals as an adult, which is kinda cringe to me. It's like bro you graduated that's weird. But I also get it lol.
