“Converting up” lol maybe learn how to spell before posting…. More importantly, do you really think the family would allow the sorority to hide their daughter’s cause of death if there was any foul play or fault on the chapter’s part? Absolutely not. The fact some people are using a tragedy to try and disparage a chapter is disgusting. Please do some soul searching and pray…

I agree with seriously. A statement should be made to raise awareness. If it was an overdose so others know what to look for. If it was a medical reason so students know to be alert and to be able to assist others next time and so a protocol is in place on getting help immediately. The university has an obligation to post reason of death vs no foul play. It is foul play if someone was sick and didnt get help. Raise awareness as her life mattered. I now see its meningitis. So why not say so....its criminal to hide that

You need to understand the family owes you no explanation or reason and it is there right to keep things private. The school
Doesn’t owe you anything , alpha phi doesn’t owe you anything , and her family doesn’t owe you anything

She said the signs point to meningitis, not that it’s confirmed. Autopsies take time. She told you the story about what happened to her. The family also does not owe anyone anything. They are allowed to preserve the privacy of their daughter and they are allowed to take time to grieve. There are also other factors related to the situation (not the cause of death) that prevented people from commenting.

HIPPA LAWS MAKE THAT ILLEGAL.

First it’s HIPAA, not HIPPA. And second, that only applies to healthcare orgs not releasing your info.

This is very sad, but hopefully the family can get closure. I hope that aphi will come out with a press release confirming the official cause of death. Whenever a collegiate member of my srat passes they promptly address to stop the rumors.

We can’t get peace because of the horrible things being said about her. The sorority cannot release a statement…it’s not their place.

Aphi is not where an announcement will come from if it ever does. Her family will do it. A sorority is not responsible for something like that, and will honor her parents request. Nobody cares what trolls think sororities should do. None of us perform for you.

If it was meningitis, they would have announced it by now bc it’s a public health issue and a reportable condition. There would be contact tracing etc.

The corners report will only be coming back tomorrow. Thus the reason her parents have been waiting in Alabama to bring her home.

regrettably a contagious medical problem is a healthcare emergency and everyone must respect students who came in contact with her....this has nothing to do with privacy but with a contagious illness that must not spread...i am reading comments and is anyone really thinking of what they write? its called contact tracing to save other lives. comments like hope you are vaxxed are a cheap shot by someone in pain but doesnt solve whats happened or protect other students or teachers. stop and think.

FYI there are 2 types of vaccines. Meningitis ACWY & Meningitis B. The B is an optional one.

Not all types of meningitis are covered by a vaccine. Not all types of meningitis are contagious. Strep if left untreated or not treated sufficiently can progress to meningitis.

All incoming students, regardless of classification, must have the following vaccinations:

Meningitis Vaccine – One dose at age 16 or greater
2 Measles Containing Vaccines – One must be a MMR vaccination after 1980
TB Screening – Within one year
Immunization Form – Must be downloaded then submitted via MyBama

fyi writes, All incoming students, regardless of classification, must have the following vaccinations:

so hm what happened here -she had to be vaccinated so what was the cause of death or did she die from a different strain
