No More Blame or Shame

by: No Blame

Colleges across the country are facing a mental health crisis, driven in part by the pandemic. After almost two years of remote schooling, restricted gatherings and constant testing, many students are anxious, socially isolated, depressed — and overwhelming mental health centers. At a few institutions, there has been a troubling spate of suicides. This is not a time to blame.

If you or someone you know is dealing with feelings of depression or thoughts of self harm, please seek help. It is time to make talk about mental health normal - and to begin asking students to be alert to their surroundings.

With the recent loss, this is a very stressful time. But it is also a reminder that we are not alone.

Sending love and peace out to everyone.

No. This was written by the New York Times in response to an increase in college age student suicides across the country in 2021-2022.
