Theta Came in Hot

Just want to leave a positive note for Theta.

They did incredible during rush and their pledge class proves it. 160 pledges who look excited to be there and rep Theta.

Honestly, proves that hard work and perseverance really pays off. The Machine has not been kind to Theta, yet this proves anything can be done with enough faith.

Cheers ladies, you deserve it!

Theta may have come in hot to you, but they can’t compare to the hotness of me and my Zeta sisters! Zeta is the best house on campus and has been since 1904. Straight up fax.

SK not having a big house yet hurt them this year just like it did Theta in 18. Theta has the house now and were at an advantage over SK and in equal footing with houses they cross rush with. That’s the reason IMO.

It wasn’t what THEY did, it’s what Kappa did. Kappa screwed up and didn’t invite enough girls back for pref. They assumed the ones they invited back would put them #1. But too many of them didn’t - they used Kappa as their backup house. So those girls pledged (most likely) other Old Row houses. So then other girls that had an Old Row and a top New Row for pref were pushed into their New Row option. So then other girls that would have gotten into a top New Row House then ended up in a middle New Row house. And then the girls that would have gone to those ended up in AOPi and Theta. So both of those ended up with better girls than they normally would have. It all cascaded down from Kappa’s epic fail and being over 40 girls short on quota.

Kappa's f up had nothing to do with the success of the other houses. Theta pledges were excited to be there on Bid Day and didn't get pushed down to their 2nd house.

I'm sure Kappa's miscalculation helped AGD, XO, Adpi and even Alpha Phi but it would have had very little impact on Theta, DG, DZ, Gphi, etc.

It’s great they got the 160 new members. But let’s be real here.
Their NMs still has to choose between them and SK. Given that theta has the large enough house (sk needs to break ground asap!) the history, and the national name, I’d go theta over that any day also.

I have a friend who dropped theta after last year. Theta lost 70 members. She said they didn’t live up to the hype. Your grades and bad retention…..you will take anyone who will pay for your house at this ppint

Two houses shook up the row this year:

Theta- They did outstanding and have not gotten the credit they deserved for the last two years but people can't ignore their success this year.

AGD- They were the most attractive OR house for so many Southern girls this year. There is no denying that their pledge class is better than KKG, KD, and AXO.

I totally agree with Theta killing it, but you lost me at AGD.

AGD needs to stop hyping themselves up all over GR. They belong in the upper mid-tier with KD, Kappa, PiPhi, and ADPi - exactly where they were last year.
