Bid Day awkward
by: Bidness
I saw a girl on TT and she NAILED bid day. While it is exciting to open that envelope and running to your house, unless you have a bunch of high school friends there, you will not know anyone and the actives will be hanging with their friends ready to ditch and go out to bars.
If you feel lonely after bid day (Like I did and even a little at the retreat) stick with it and you will make those bonds. But you have to put in the effort.

This is so accurate. It’s all so overwhelming and fun, but it is awkward. I was the only girl in my Rho chi group AND the only girl on my floor in tut that went my sorority (I mean, what are the odds?!) I felt weird and lonely for the first month or two, but then I found my place and ended up on exec eventually! The first semester of college is hard. Just eat all your meals at the house and you’ll meet tons of people!

Bid day is awkward for most girls because they are not in a house with their high school friends. You will be happy to finally have a home but if you expect instant bonding with your new pledge sisters, that is not going to happen. Be patient, the bonding doesn't take long if you attend all the sisterhood events and swaps. For me, I really, really started feeling at home in my house during homecoming week when we had our frat pairings, we were pomping at the house whenever we had free time, etc. I met all my good friends that week, met a ton of frat friends and met my boyfriend. With some effort, you will fit into whatever house you end up in.
