Explanation of rounds
by: BamasororityalumFull disclosure: I’m and old lady alum but I’m curious how the rounds go this year. It’s so different from when I was there. Philanthropy is 3 days and they can go to a max of 12 houses…is that correct? Then what about sisterhood and Pref? How do you start philanthropy out…there are more than 12 houses on campus…is there a pre selection that’s not in person. We used to have Ice water teas and went to every house. lol…Be nice please. Yes I’m old but I’m just genuinely curious

The chapters use the pnm's registration info, social resumes and social media over the summer to choose who will be invited for round 1 (philanthropy). They get up to 12 invitations, but most have fewer. Those parties are scheduled over three days. After that, they find out which houses invited them to sisterhood, which is up to 7, then those parties are scheduled over three days. After that, they can get back up to two houses for Pref, which is one day. Then bid day.

Open House is the pnm's looking at each sorority's video, and meanwhile the pnm's have submitted their personal videos as part of their registration. So IWT is just virtual and impersonal. First cuts are mostly by grades, and legacies don't have to be invited back any more, so it's really just perfunctory at this point.

This is helpful; thank you! Are the PNMs able to vote in the Open House round? I didn’t see voting mentioned in the Greek Chic for this round like I did with the other rounds.
