Your financial situation
by: Think About ItPNMs, please do some research about how much being part of a house is going to cost you over 4 years and how you will pay for it. My house had several pledges drop during their first semester because they couldn't pay their dues. We had more during 2nd semester too. I know that financial positions can change but don't get swept up in the recruitment hype and go through the process and accept a bid if you can't afford it. You are taking a bid from our house away from some other girl that can fulfill the financial obligations. The reality is that its more expensive to be a part of the Bama Greek system than most other universities. Don't waste our time during recruitment or your pledge year if you can't really afford it.

While you have some points here.... It is expensive. Also pnms it's perfectly fine to go in knowing you will only stay an active for a year or 2. This is my situation, I'm about to start my sophomore year and plan to drop after football season next year. Of course keep this information to your self.

Girls should join with a 4 year commitment in mind. Most instate girls understand that. OOR girls are the problem because they don't see the long term value of it because they will move back to cities where nobody cares. It's why OR houses have such high membership numbers. Southern girls don't drop junior and senior year. This is another reason many houses get worried about offering bids to OOR girls. Nobody says it out loud but its true.

Do most people only stay active for the first two years and drop after junior year?
