It’s mainly because they aren’t in the machine so they get constantly talked down on by other houses. They have a good sisterhood, are involved in their philanthropies, and tend to get pretty decent grades. Everyone I’ve met has been super sweet!

Before SK, DG, and APhi got on campus some house had to be bottom. And it was Theta. And GPhi. Neither were in the machine and that’s where girls you never thought would rush or rep and grade risks ended up every year. They had bad retention and were on life support. Then APhi colonized and just a couple years later DG. New means automatically bottom. But they both found their footing. APhi with “we don’t care as long as she’s hot” and DG with “girl next door that no one knew before she got here.” It took them both several years but for different reasons they had more presence (APhi for looks and social life and DG for grades and involvement) and stopped being everyone’s dead last pick. During this, GPhi ended up with a similar vibe to APhi, helped largely by the amount of OOR girls wanting to come here. For whatever reason, Theta stayed the mix bag and bottom. SK came and bumped everyone up again, so now bottom is SK and Theta. It doesn’t mean they’re bad. Especially with the number and kind of girls rushing now these houses are light years ahead of where they were even if they’re still considered bottom. But people rank, for better or worse, and people always have to put someone last.
