How does gpa work

I’m kinda confused on the gpa system. My school is on a 5 point scale so I have a 4.9, when it is unweighted and transferred to a 4 scale it’s 3.7. Is that good? How do they look at your gpa?

My school is also on a 5.0 scale. Alabama took my gpa as weighted, houses will use what the school recognizes as your gpa. Look on panhel. website, this isn’t the best place to ask for advice.
