pnms this is the truth

by: ranks

PNMS pls if ur reading this I think it’s important for u to know that at the end of the day when u graduate no one is going to care what house u were. I won’t lie and say it doesn’t matter your freshman year but if I’m being completely honest it’s literally what u make it. I am in a “bottom” house I’m from far OOR and I had a bad gpa which inevitably left me with “worse” houses. There was a few times where I’d be at rounders and a boy would ask what house I was I would tell them and they would literally walk away. this will likely happen to u if ur bottom but let’s be honest with ourselves here would u really wanna go home w someone if they judged u on something that shallow? even though I was bottom I still got to go to all the date parties of “top” fraternities I still got invited to nola & I had game day dates. Like I said it’s literally what u make it!!! don’t let urself be defined by ur sorority. I’m a senior now and literally no one even asks what house ur in, a lot of girls end up dropping their houses by senior year. It’s really not that serious. BE YOU!!! rush the house you connect with the best during recruitment! I promise your sisterhood experience will be so much better that way than trying to fit in with a bunch of girls you have nothing in common with.

Family finances change, girls don’t see the value in it once they’re a junior/senior with an established friend group outside of greek life. They want to pursue activities outside of greek life, too much of a time commitment for them... so many reasons.

Houses with a high ratio of out of state members see high drop rates - for the reasons noted above, plus a higher transfer rate (girls transferring to schools closer to home).

I think they also see less “value” as they become juniors/seniors in comparison to girls from in state who will return home with their high school friends and sisters. \n\n\n\n\n

You have me for most of this, but your story about the guy at the bar is pretty sus. I'm in a house considered bottom and I've never once, even as a freshman, met a guy who walked away or lost interest because of my house, nor do I know of a single sister/friend who had that happen. The truth is that if you're cool and not horrible looking, guys don't care what house you are in. Just like no guy is gonna hit on an unattractive unfriendly girl just because she's in a "top" house. A lot of my sisters date top house guys and go to their formals.

Not saying this didn't happen to you, but I think you just got a hardcore a-hole and you dodged a bullet big time.

It happened to my friend. She is a smart, gorgeous girl in a lower tier house and the guy straight up walked away at the bar after she said her house.

I'm a guy in a top house and I don't buy it if she is really hot.
