Super seniors

by: ??

For the girls who stay an extra semester/year after they should’ve graduated, do they still get to remain active in their houses? Do houses have limits on how long girls can be active?

Not totally sure for everyhouse but the national policy for mine is 4 consecutive academic years. Super seniors can obviously still hangout but cant participate in offical chapter business/ pay dues/ be on meal plan and so on. I know there was an older girl my freshman year that had to petition nationals for an exception. She was in an accident that killed her dad and severely injured her over Christmas and she took a semester off. She was granted temporary alum status and got to come back as an active. So still only 8 semiesters

i think it depends on your sorority nationals and when you rushed. if you rushed as anything other than a freshman, then most houses will allow you to be an active for the full or as close to the full “4 years” so if you’re a fifthyear, you don’t have to go alum. it’s definitely something you’d have to contact your exec and nationals abt

i know a zeta who joined as a spring cob, and “should have” graduated in may 2020 but she hasn’t graduated yet and she still has her letters in her bio and goes to all their events

Honestly staying active past your actual undergrad graduation is viewed as kind of weird, even if for example you joined as a sophomore and are staying for grad school. I think the general opinion is that after you graduate it’s time to move on. Unless of course you have an exception like the above example that made you miss a semester or something.

What are you even talking about? You literally can't be an active in grad school.

And @^ if she was a spring cob and she is still a fulltime student then it's fine for her to still be an active. It's her 8th semester.

I will say it is pretty weird to spend alot of time around your sorority if you stay here for grad school. I'm not saying pretend they dont exist but move on
