Hardest House?- repost
by: Copy/Paste
This is not easy to answer.
It depends who you are - where are you from, looks, grades, etc versus what the house “type is”.
Hard to get in generally means many girls want the house. About 2600 girls rush and each house takes approximately 135 girls. So if many more than 135 girls “want” the house - it’s competitive.
But remember, cuts happen right away. If you want house XYZ and they drop you (along with other houses you want) - all of a sudden there is competition at different houses. And there are also other girls in this situation - so the game changes each round.
You will see girls with cards each round that include these houses exclusively, some with a mix and some only houses not on this list.
Generally houses with more interest among Southern Christian girls from small and medium Towns - AXO, AGD and XO. And even though there are a lot of this type of girl here, there are many houses that fit this type.
Competitive amongst girls from larger Alabama towns “good zip codes” - KKG and KD.
PHi Mu - broader southern geography status seeking types.
DDD - some of all of above and even some below.
ZTA and APhi attractive social types.
If for some reason you desire a house that is notably different than “who you are” it’s a hard bid to get. But, if you “fit the mold” not so hard.
I would say out of the gate these houses generally are generating more interest than they have openings and are particularly “competitive”: AXO, PhiMu, AGD, KKG, KD, DDD, XO, ZTA and APhi.

zetas and aphis are so insecure on this site, downvoting every single comment that doesn’t fit their narrative and writing rude comments about others’ appearances.
objectively speaking, old row houses are harder to get into. that’s just the truth and if you disagree then you either don’t go to school here or you’re just delusional.

There are houses with no girls from “Mountainbrook” - or if they do that they were kind of outsiders in the community.
And you can substitute any other Alabama “better” community or private school for Mountainbrook above.
These girls are generally focused on a handful of houses where their friends are, that Mom’s back home have a certain impression of, where they know their friends, etc. This is generally - OR.
And, THEY aren’t interested in other houses - typically NR.
This bubble may lead to the belief that other houses aren’t competitive and that NOBODY is interested. In this view of the world these other people are “nobodies”, because they aren’t important to them and their social circle.
I am not promoting any house or intending to slam Moutainbrook, just an honest look at the dynamics of rush.
In many ways this holds true in various ways in life - where people cling to and have pride in their “tribe”.
However, the current reality in rush is that about half the girls are from outside Alabama, and there is competition in many houses. So about half the girls aren’t motivated by where their HS friends are.
The overall experience in these other houses in not “less”, unless you are going to miss being around your old HS friends. Agree this IS Of great importance to some, but not everyone these days.
As far as COB - it seems houses with higher out of state and out of region members do lose more girls (and then COB) as they are more likely to get homesick, transfer, don’t want to pay/see the value, etc. But that doesn’t mean that during formal recruitment that there isn’t interested and competition for these houses (that may eventually COB). \n\n\n\n\n

Yep, COB is good tell to how well a house is doing in terms of member interest and retention.
