Why do girls cob houses that dropped them
by: Just curiousWhy do girls want to cob a house that dropped them during fall recruitment. Why would you want to join a house that didn’t want you? Unless it was some sort of mistake or mix up?

Usually because the girl now knows other people in the house and still wants to be a part of Greek life and now has an “easier” way to get into said house.
You also have to remember that fall rush is extremely competitive... so just because a PNM is dropped doesn’t mean the house explicitly didn’t like/want her... more than likely, the PNM was a good candidate but there were girls who had something that boosted them (whether it be connections, better grades, better recs, etc).

Students interested in joining a sorority often hold the ideals of service to others and personal growth thru said service as motivation. In such cases, which precise group they end up joining can become immaterial. Formal recruitment involves an overloaded number of pnms, some of whom are 'dropped' from an invite list when a sorority is required per panhellenic rules to limit their invite numbers to a mere 1/6 of available PNM candidates. That sorority may DESIRE to invite back 1/2 of the available women, but cannot. Therefore, pnms 'dropped' during formal rush and eligible for COB have the right to attend any COB event to which they are invited by any COB-eligible sorority.

^^^^this is true. getting dropped doesn’t mean a house doesn’t want you. especially once u get to later rounds like pref or sisterhood this is more than likely the case. during pref u will typically have 2 houses. A LOT OF TIMES going into pref a girl can get “invited back” by multiple houses, it just depends on who ranks thay girl higher. if X sorority wants to invite a girl back but doesn’t put her as high up as Y sorority, Y sorority may appear on her schedule instead of X, even if X still voted to keep her
